Has James Bond finally
met his
match? |
Secret Agent 007 must stop a
megalomaniacal technology mogul from destroying Silicon Valley in this
unexceptional entry in the James Bond series. Computer baron Max Zorin
(Christopher Walken) is planning to trigger a major California earthquake in
order to wipe out his competitors. Bond is assigned to stop him, but first
he must do battle with Zorin's statuesque partner in crime, May Day (Grace
Jones). The expected high-wire confrontations ensue, as Bond battles the
villains at international landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and takes the
occasional break to romance an attractive geologist. Unfortunately, nothing
fresh is brought to the familiar formula, and even the well-staged action
sequences prove less than exciting. Indeed, this otherwise by-the-numbers
production is most notable for the fact that it marked the final appearance
of Roger Moore as the dashing Bond. ~ Judd Blaise, All Movie Guide
Superagent James Bond wid
auf den millionenschweren Großindustriellen Max Zorin (Christopher
Walken) und dessen extravagante Leibwächterin May Day (Grace Jones)
angesetzt.
will.

1985: American actor Christopher Walken
at Pinewood Studios
during the filming of the James Bond film 'A View to
a Kill'
Character Information:
Max Zorin is born from experiments
conducted in Nazi concentration camps, run by Dr Carl Mortner in an
attempt to produce super-intelligent offspring by giving the mother
steroids whilst pregnant. While few children survived, the side effects
of the experiment were that the children were psychotic, Max Zorin no
exception. A KGB agent providing intelligence and stealing technology
from the Americans, Zorin breaks ties with the Russians to pursue his
own dreams of domination in Project Main Strike. A ruthless merciless
businessman, Zorin eliminates anyone who doesn’t agree with him or gets
in his way with the help of girlfriend and fellow assassin May Day.
Gewusst?
vorgeschlagen.

[Hovering over Silicon Valley in their airship]
May Day: Wow! What a view!
Max Zorin: To a KILL!
"This will hurt him.."-
Zorin

Max Zorin: [to
Scarpine] Time to flood the fault.
Bob Conley: But May Day and my men!
Max Zorin: Yes. A rather nice coincidence.
"Did
you sleep well?"- Zorin,Bond
Max Zorin: I'm happiest, when I'm in the saddle.
James Bond: A fellow sportsman! Tell me, what about fishing,
fly-casting?
Max Zorin: [Realizing he is being trapped] Excuse
me, I'm neglecting my other guests.
James Bond:
My department know I'm here. When I don't report they'll retaliate.
Max Zorin: If you're the best they've got, they're more likely try
and cover up your embarrassing incompetence.
Bond: Don't count on it, Zorin.
Zorin [laughs]: Ha ha, you amuse me, Mr. Bond.
Bond: It's not mutual.
